Global Facial Aesthetics Product Market Size, Share & Trends Report by Product (Dermal Fillers, Particle & Polymer Fillers, Botox), by Application (Aesthetic Clinics, Beauty Saloon, Hospitals, Dermatological Clinics) Forecast (2022-2028)
The global facial aesthetics market is anticipated to grow at a significant CAGR during the forecast period (2022-2028). Facial Aesthetics refers to non-surgical treatments for the face that have rejuvenating or anti-aging properties. Growing trend of paying high attention over physical look among old age people is a key motivator for this industry. Therefore, the rise in the geriatric population is one of the factors driving the growth of global facial aesthetics products. For instance, according to the data published by World Health Organization in 2021, the share of the population aged 60 years is anticipated to increase from 1 billion in 2020 to 1.4 billion and by 2050 the world’s population of people aged 60 and older is anticipated to double to 2.1 billion. Moreover, the number of persons aged 80 years and older are anticipated to triple between 2020 to 2050 to reach 426 million.
Looking towards the demand for facial aesthetics products, key market players are adopting various strategies including mergers & acquisitions, geographical expansion, partnerships and collaborations, and new product launches, to stay competitive in the market. For instance, in February 2022, Merz Aesthetics had launched Radiesse + Lidocaine injectable implant for deep injection for soft tissue augmentation to improve moderate to a severe loss of jawline counter in adults over the age of 21. In addition, the Radiesse is also approved to treat moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Moreover , the USFDA had approved the supplemental pre-market application (sPMA) in September 2021.
In December 2021, Galderma Laboratories P.l had announced the launch of a new label for Sculptra (Injectable –Poly-lactic acid (PLLA)), an injectable treatment to smooth facial wrinkles such as smile lines. The new label approved by the USFDA includes higher dilution, new injection techniques, and the optional addition of lidocaine. The new label approval is based on the data from physiochemical studies, evaluating the safety and efficacy of two different dilutions of Sculptra. According to the company, the results demonstrated that 9ml including lidocaine was tolerated and caused less pain, whereas 5ml had reduced the severity of the nasolabial fold (NLF). Thus, such launches are anticipated to drive the global facial aesthetics products market during the forecast period (2022-2028).
