The largest all-electric ferry in the world has yet gone into service in Norway on routes across the Oslo Fjord. Bust Electric is the first of three battery-powered ferries operated by Norwegian water input transport company Bust Posen, with more in the making in Turkey.The 139.2-meter-long and 21-meter-wide electric electric was built by the Turkish Sepin shipyard, with space for 600 passengers and 200 cars or 24 trucks. The battery and fast charging system of the three ferries is provided by Siemens Energy at the battery plant in Trondheim. Electricity uses a battery with a capacity of 4.3 MW. The fast charging system has a capacity of 9 million watts, according to the transport company. When docking, the ferry is always “charged at lightning speed”.
